Nano-Scale Materials Characterisation Residential Weekend

Posted on April 16, 2018 at 1:37pm 0 Comments

Become familiar with the latest characterisation methods at the University of Oxford’s Begbroke Science Park and at the Department of Materials.

Over the two days (30 June - 1 July 2018), the presentations, discussions and demonstrations focus on characterisation and problem-solving in surface and interface science and technology as well as characterisation of nanoparticles and nanostructures. In particular, the following groups of techniques are considered:

  • Surface…

The Fundamental Science of Nanotechnology - 9 January to 18 March 2017

Posted on August 15, 2016 at 10:13am 0 Comments

Particles and structures at the nanoscale demonstrate phenomena not seen at other length scales. This online course is designed to cover the science behind the phenomena that arise when considering materials at the nanoscale and will appeal to those requiring a solid introduction to the subject. It provides a good grounding in the scientific equations and principles that an understanding of nanotechnologies requires.

In this course we also consider some of the common nanostructures…

The Wider Context of Nanotechnology - 24 October to 4 December 2016

Posted on August 11, 2016 at 1:51pm 0 Comments

Nanotechnology is the identification, application and use of novel behaviour that occurs at the nanoscale to solve real-world problems. The discipline requires a breadth of understanding that is much wider than just the equations and scientific principles that underlie that behaviour. This introductory course gives an overview of the current state of nanotechnology as well as introducing the implications of these new technologies for safety, regulation, and innovation. The course provides an…

I suggest to include in the School program the topic: a creation of a Knowledge Base of nanomaterials and nanotechnology. Under the Knowledge Base, we mean an information tool, containing all relationships between all variables of nano object, allowing to calculate a value of one variable through others as well as solving both direct and inverse problems, predicting characteristics of nano object which have not been investigated yet as well as predicting a technology parameters that provide the required characteristics of nano object.

I could present the methodology and results of the creation of Knowledge Base for the characteristics of nano films of linear-chain carbon (LCC) with embedded into LCC various atoms (as a lecture in the framework of the School).

I am waiting for response of the Organizing Committee of the School as well as I invite who are interested in the problem deals with a creation of the Knowledge Base of nanomaterials and nanotechnology to collaborate with me. I believe that the Knowledge base is a future of nanomaterials world.

Welcome - about us

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!

Nanopaprika is always looking for new partners, if you have any idea, contact me at editor@nanopaprika.eu
