My research field or area of interest innanotechnology
My research area is synthesis of noble metals nanoparticles (Cu, Ag and Au) in silica matrixes (powder and thin mesoporous film) by means of photochemical and/or thermal reduction of appropriate ions. The alloy, core-shell and island-like structures of bimetallic nanoparticles is obtained also in colloids. I have investigated non-linear properties of bimetallic nanoparticles in colloids under action of femptosecond pulse laser irradiation; bactericide activity of Ag-Au/silica suspensions; and photocatalytic activity mono- and bimetallic nanoparticles in the process of organic pollutants destruction. My latest research, when I have worked in University of Notre Dame (US), was connected with the synthesis of semiconductors CuInS2, Cu2S, CdTe, CdSe, CdS (nanowires and nanorods) by solution-liquid-solid microwave assisted and conventional (with hot injection) methods for further investigation and application in solar cells energy storage and nanoelectronic devices.

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.
