Young Investigator in Nanomedicine:- Medicinal Chemistry

1-year research contract/CDD for young investigator in Nanomedicine:
Lipid nanoparticles for siRNA delivery

In the MINATEC campus for innovation in micro and nanotechnologies the Leti institute is an applied research center in microelectronics, technology information and health. Closely with hospital universities and institutions of higher education, the Division of applied Technologies for Biology and Health (Leti HEALTH, http://www-leti.cea.fr/en/Discover-Leti/Leti-s-research/Application-fields/Sante) develops new technologies to improve medical diagnosis and treatment of patients. A the interface between academic research and industrial development, Leti HEALTH has laboratory facilities of 320 m², equipped with a 70 m² clean room and chemistry/ biology laboratories (L1, L2 safety levels) and also an international network of partners.

Our research unit from Leti-Health division is looking for a young investigator for 1- year research contract starting in September 2015. The project deals with the design and use of nanoparticles for improving the intracellular delivery of siRNA after IV administration. This project involves our interdisciplinary group (fluidics, chemistry, biology) and a strong collaboration with the Biomics group from the Life Sciences division of CEA, headed by Dr Xavier Gidrol.

The candidate should have obtained a PhD degree in Biochemistry and/or Medicinal Chemistry with at least 3 years of experience. Backgrounds in nanoparticle formulation and in transfection will be particularly appreciated. Moreover, ability to collaborate in a highly multidisciplinary environment is absolutely required (biologists, chemists, industrial and clinicans).

Please send your application (cover letter, CV with a description of research experience, methodologies used, publication record and a list of potential references) by email to: Fabrice Navarro, fabrice.navarro@cea.fr
