The Nanoscience Liquid Crystals (NLC) based research training programme of intended for PhD and Postdoctoral fellows.The programme, benefiting from former achievements in Nanoscience, is designed to employ the phenomenological knowledge concerning field of inter- and multi-disciplinary field of nanoscale processes to the creation of new materials applicable in industrial technology, liquid crystals, smart display technology, switchable devices, nano- electronics and optoelectronics, 2D-transitional metal oxide, Graphene as transparent electrodes and super capacitor applications and environmental protection. NLC' group links via Chemistry, Physics, Nano-biotechnology and Materials Science research with business collaboration.The programme is aimed at creating a new generation of scientists, capable of working in both scientific and research sectors, and becoming stimulants and intermediaries of knowledge & technology transfer on an international level.

Our offer for the position

NLC’ group will select 4-PhD students and 2-postdoctoral to carry out projects under supervision of at least one/two supervisor and one from an excellent partner institution of co-supervision. PhD/Postdoctoral research will be accomplished both in India and abroad institutions. The successful candidates will be offered an Independent Research Group for an initial period of 5 years with the possibility of extension for 2 years. This includes a group leader position and additional resources for research positions, consumables, and investments. The cumulative amount of funding is competitive with top class start-up packages of international career development programs. Junior researchers/Postdoctoral candidates those who deserve own fellowship and research grant (e.g. CSIR, UGC, DST, DRDO, Dr. D.S.Kothari PDF) or self financing desirable.Candidates may be established or starting-up with some initial collaboration of creativity that they may develop into a leader of tomorrow. We are particularly interested in recruiting outstanding female students/scientists, expressly encourage them to apply.

*PhD scholars and Postdoctoral remuneration will provide attractive salary package with high quality research activities, exclusive publications and hand on expertise skills.Experienced researchers should always preferable for consideration of application.

Candidates are free to choose works from the NLC’ group listed below;

  • Scale up 2-dimensional transitional metaloxide, synthesis and processing of ultra-thin graphene based materials nano-sheets or nano-ribbons for electrochemical energy storage systems.
  • Mechanism of nano-structure formation and surface engineering for activated materials in catalysis
  • Synthesis of CNT's/graphene nano-sheets, nano-ribbons applications in transparent electrodes and super capacitor
  • Liquid Crystals,2-D nanomaterials,hybrid complex materials, polymeric nanomaterials synthesis and spectroscopic characterization for optical and electrical investigation
  • OLED and Photonics, smart display technology, flexible display, switchable devices, micro-nanoscale device based technology and nanoelectronics/optoelectronics applications
  • Kinetic and chemical studies of aqueous-phase reactions of nanomaterials and graphene dispersed liquid crystals spectroscopy analysis
  • Silica-based nanomaterials applications in catalysis, food and drug technology, biomedical materials and drug delivery, water purification, Bio-materials, Nano-Bio Technology.

Your application:

Please send your CV with recent color photo, publication list, a short description of research accomplishments and future plans preferably to the concern Scientist & Group Leader, Dr. Kaushik Pal via E-mail: kpalphysics.nano@gmail.com.
