Overview
The Electron Science Research Institute houses photonic and electronic laboratories equipped for state-of-the-art design, development and characterisation, as well as a world-class Micro-/Nano-Photonic fabrication and characterisation facility comprising a 256m2 clean-room equipped for material growth, etching, characterisation, metallisation, photolithography, thermal and e-beam evaporation, RF magnetron sputtering, focused ion beam milling, electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, spectrophotometry and fluorometry. 

The Institute is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified electronics (research) engineer to join our research team. Experience in optics and photonics is highly desired.

The successful applicant will have:
• A minimum bachelor degree in optical and electronic engineering or related areas;
• Proven “hands-on” experience in optical and electronic system design, development and testing;
• Proven experience in software development and algorithm debugging and FPGA programming; and
• Demonstrable achievement in optical/electronic system development for commercial, industrial and scientific applications

The applicant will also need to demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, three-year fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $62,197 to $84,377 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
