Job description:

Quorum Technologies are manufacturers of market-leading leading electron microscopy (EM) preparation instruments.
The position is a field-based sales role specifically targeting the UK EM market and other appropriate applications for Quorum coating and cryo preparation products. In addition technical and commercial support for the sales office and European distributors is a key aspect of this position.
The position will be based from the Laughton, East Sussex factory and offices, although administrative and sales calls can be conducted from home. The role will require extensive UK travel for sales visits, demonstrations, exhibitions etc. It is anticipated that a minimum of 50% of the time will be field-based with the remaining time based at Laughton or at the Ashford, Kent sub-office.

Key duties include:

• Liaison with UK customers throughout the sales cycle
• Identification of new UK prospects and regular targeted sales visits to UK EM users
• Promotion of products across a broad range of disciplines (including lifesciences, materials science, food sciences, geological sciences etc.)
• Identifying and developing secondary markets for coating and RF plasma products
• Working with the marketing director on promotional programmes and events for the UK market
• On-site and factory demonstrations of products to UK prospects
• In-house sample testing for prospective customers
• Production of quotations/proposals for UK end users
• Contribution to sales and marketing plans as required
• Maintain UK customer database and reference lists
• Monthly reporting of UK sales performance against agreed targets
• Participation at regional and national exhibitions as required
• Coverage of key functions of the sales office, particularly during holiday periods
• Submission of weekly itineraries with details of anticipated visits and activities
