Temporary position for two years

The position

The position of a postdoctoral researcher is open for applications. The position is situated at the Center for Molecular Materials, more specifically in the Research Community of Molecular Materials (http://www.oulu.fi/molecularmaterials/node/25636). This research community comprises seven research groups: (1) Cellular biophysics, (2) Structural biomolecular chemistry, (3) Electron spectroscopy, (4) Computational materials physics, (5) NMR spectroscopy, (6) Nanotechnology materials research, and (7) Main-group chemistry. The research groups have close collaboration in the characterization of materials at the molecular level.

A successful applicant has a duty within the annual total workload of 1600 hours to conduct scientific research and participate in teaching and supervision of master’s and Ph.D. theses. The more detailed work plan is agreed annually within the Center. The research activity of the applicant shall be within the domains of at least two above-mentioned research groups.

Selection criteria

The applicant is expected to hold a Ph.D. degree, to show ability for independent research in at least two of the fields within the Research Community of Molecular Materials, and to possess the necessary teaching skills. Documented experience in international research collaboration and mobility is a prerequisite for a successful application.
