The Andalusian Centre for Nanomedicine and Biotechnology (BIONAND; www.bionand.es) is a mixed centre with stakes held by the Regional Ministry of Innovation and Science, the Regional Ministry of Health and the University of Malaga with the purpose to promote and encourage the development of Nanomedicine. BIONAND was created as a multidisciplinary research space, where different professionals from the healthcare, university and business areas interact, making it possible to generate new systems for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases.

BIONAND is the benchmark centre of the Andalusian Program for Research in Nanomedicine, a program which, together with those of Cell Therapy, Regenerative Medicine and Clinical Genetics and Genomic Medicine, has the main objective of supporting and fostering translational research in Advanced Therapies.

Description

The Photonics & RF Labs, headed by Dr. I. Molina-Fernández, develops its activity in the development of nano and micrometric photonic devices for diagnosis and more specifically in the field of waveguide based evanescent Biosensors to detect very low concentrations of drugs and pathogens and monitor molecular reactions in real-time. The group seeks for motivated postdoctoral researchers in the Biophotonics field to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (IF). The project will focus on the design and characterization of waveguide enhanced photonic chemical/bio sensors based in nanostructured materials.

Candidates cannot have carried out have their work in Spain for more than 12 months over the last three years.

FIMABIS, Andalusian Public Foundation for Health and Biomedicine Research in Malaga is a non-profit foundation responsible of the research management for this group in the BIONAND Center and it will carry out the process of selection and preparation of the proposal in collaboration with the selected person and the host research group.
