Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in the Timp Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. We are seeking qualified individuals to support research projects in single cell and single molecule epigenetics. Potential projects include the investigation of protein- DNA interactions in an epigenetic context using single molecule and nanotechnology tools(e.g., nanopores, TIRF microscopy) and integrating epigenetics into the systems biology framework using next-generation sequencing and microscopy to interrogate individual cells.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, physics, biology, molecular biology, or other related discipline; this should be accompanied by a solid track record in research as evinced by a strong publication record. Ideal candidates should be well versed in molecular biology, cell biology, basic microscopy and computational techniques. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics or biostatistics, microfluidics, advanced fluorescent microscopy (FRET , FLIM , TIRF , confocal and widefield), computer programming ( MATLAB , R).

Interested applicants should send a detailed CV, three letters of reference and summary statement describing previous research experience and interest in joining the group via email to Prof. Winston Timp (wtimp@jhu.edu)
