Job description:

This 2-years postdoc position at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL - Braga/Portugal) is aimed at the development of tools to improve the extraction of quantitative information from electron microscopy experiments.

We seek a highly motivated scientist with experience in statistical analysis of large datasets to develop methodologies to extract information from electron microscopy experiments carried out under non-ideal conditions. Typical input datasets are low signal-to-noise/signal-to-background images and spectra, originated from radiation sensitive samples and/or from small atomic clusters and single dopant atoms. The investigated samples are related to many applications, including catalysis and microelectronics.

The position will involve the exploration of various analysis methods to extract information from the microscopy datasets, the determination the ideal data treatment routines for the different case-studies and their implementation into software.
