The Institute of Electronic Structure and LASER (IESL) of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH), in the frame of the project «SMART_SURF», which is an “ARISTEIA II Action”, is seeking for one (1) Post-doctoral Researcher
Description
The purpose of the project is the development and characterization of multifunctional surfaces, the investigation of their properties and the optimization of their behavior. The multifunctional surfaces will be developed following optimization of the behavior of responsive organic/polymer coatings onto hierarchically macro/micro/nano-structured surfaces. Micro/nano-roughened surfaces will be prepared by ultrafast (femtosecond) laser irradiation of inorganic surfaces under a reactive atmosphere. A third level of macro-structuring will be introduced by patterning the inorganic surfaces using, e.g., photolithography and/or electron-beam lithography in order to introduce anisotropy to the wetting behavior.
