Application deadline: 15th October 2014

Complex processes are taking place in battery systems, degrading or creating nanostructures that over repeated charging cycles reduce battery performance.

By using micro and nanofabricated chip systems that enable high resolution electron microscopy and spectroscopy on electrically contacted devices, this project will perform detailed studies of nanoscale processes on nanowire and nanostructured electrodes.

The PhD scholarshop is part of a collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and part of the studies (6 months) will be performed at NTU in Singapore. The position will be within the Molecular Windows group at DTU Nanotech that is working on developing novel imaging methods for complex nanoscale processes – see www.nanotech.dtu.dk/mowin.
