Physical Scientist - Nanotechnology

An award winning nanotechnology company are looking for bright Physical Scientist (Chemist/ Materials Scientist/Physicist) to join their established Applications Team on as an Assistant Applications Scientist. Using your strong knowledge of chemistry/physics/materials properties you will be working with the Applications Team to optimise the companys unique nano-coating technology. You will also help develop new processes and test methods on behalf of the companys exciting portfolio of customers including many globally recognised electronics companies. Role - Assistant Applications Scientist Location - Oxfordshire Salary - £22-27K Hours - The candidate will be able work 2 shift patterns (6am-2pm and 1pm-9pm) when required, however recent working hours are 9am-5:30pm. As Assistant Applications Scientist, you would join a successful team supporting the companys well known Electronics Customers. The technique and coating has already been developed you will be on a team supporting the application of the coating technology, optimizing it for individual applications. You would contribute to the following: development and optimizing new processes developing new test methods development of new applications projects generating test reports and procedures To be considered for the role of Assistant Applications Scientist you need the following: Education: Essential: A good Bachelors or Masters Degree (MChem, Mphys, MSci, MEng, MA, MRes, Mphil) (2.1 or above) in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science Experience Essential Prior experience working in a laboratory setting. Technically adept Experience in chemistry or materials science/engineering Knowledge of analytical techniques Experience of working in a commercial and scientific environment Desirable Experience of product or process development (PECVD, CVD, Vapour Deposition etc ) Working understanding of Surface Science (SEM, TEM, FTIR, LC-MS etc) Experience in Nanotechnology, perhaps coating applications/ development. Microsoft Office (good working knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel and Word) Skills - Chemistry, Chemist, Test, Research, Develop, Coating, Nanocoating. Nanotechnology, Electrochemical Techniques, Surface Science, Characterisation, SEM, TEM, Electron Microscopy, DSC, TMA , XRD, OES, GPC, DSC, M Pt, TGA, photoelectron yield spectroscopy, particle size analysis, Analytical, Surface Science, Nano, Graduate, MChem, MRes.
