Duration of Studentship 4 Years Stipend £15,590 per annum Vacancy Information A PhD studentship is available to undertake research into the understanding and exploitation of the electronic properties of carbon nanotubes and graphene. A strong emphasis will be on the development of individual electron spins defined in carbon nanotube and graphene quantum dots as long-lived quantum bits or qubits as well as the generation and measurement of multi-qubit entanglement in these materials. Experimental work will involve device fabrication in a cleanroom environment and electrical measurements at low temperatures, including both dc electron transport and microwave manipulation and spectroscopy.
