an experimental PhD position dealing with molecular clusters and cluster-surface interactions is available within the Graduate School of Analytical Sciences Adlershof (SALSA).

Using selected model systems clusters and nanoparticles generated from binary mixtures will be analyzed both in the gas phase and with respect to their surface interactions. Objectives are the

- systematic comparison of supersonic jet expansions of binary mixtures from liquids, supercritical fluids, and gases
- development and refinement of analytical tools for characterizing nanometer size particles in the gas phase
- detailed investigation of the surface interaction of these nanoparticles
