The Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) will be hosting a symposium, entitled ‘Expert Analysis on Nano-Regulation and Policy: Staying Ahead of the Curve’, on 19 Nov 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.

The regulatory landscape for nanotechnology continues to shift throughout the world, with key discussions being held in a multitude of different sectors and locations. Europe remains at the forefront of legislative developments in the area, with individual Member States as well as the European Commission looking to develop and improve their governance systems.

Representatives from the European Commission, national regulatory bodies and NGOs have been invited to symposium to provide their input on:

• The nano-specific modification of the REACH Annexes
• The review of the EC recommended definition of the term 'nanomaterial'
• National mandatory reporting schemes
• Transparency and public engagement
