Swansea University's College of Engineering invites applications for a fully-funded 3 year PhD studentship investigating the modelling and design of semiconductor nano-lasers.

The main objective of the proposed research is to develop advanced computational techniques for understanding the properties of active nanoscale photonic devices and thereby lead to improved device design methodologies.

The position is funded by a grant from the National Research Network (NRN) in Advanced Engineering and Materials (AEM) and focus on the development on numerical techniques for the simulation of semi-conductor lasers. This research is in collaboration with Bangor  and it provides an excellent opportunity for truly interdisciplinary and collaborative working.
