The position

As part of the Biochemical and Biophysical Characterization Department, you will manage the Transmission Electron Microscope and Imaging Unit as well as the technical equipment platform. You will provide a high-level of scientific expertise and ensure the evaluation, selection, fine tuning and certification of ultra-structural characterization methods.

Your main duties will be:

• To put forward and to develop new approaches and methods for the characterization of candidate vaccines, adjuvants and intermediaries by cryo-TEM,
• To participate in the definition and the implementation of the analytical strategy of the characterization of candidate vaccines,
• To conduct studies as well as to supervise and train two team-members to perform the analyses,
• To guarantee the quality of the analyses and to consolidate, format and communicate the results within the group,
• To monitor scientific developments in the domain and to provide technical and scientific expertise,
• To actively contribute to the production of intellectual and scientific property of the Biochemical and Biophysical Characterization Department through publications, patents, conferences,
• To be the group's chief expert for these disciplines and to develop a network of both internal and external partners.
