A group of researchers at the MIT has revealed a nanotechnological method allowing for a substantial increase in the energy efficiency of incadescent bulbs. The researchers coated filaments with several nano-sized layers. The resulting coating reflects the heat emitted by the filament but lets light pass, significantly lowering the total energy demand of the bulb. The results were published in the journal “Nature Nanotechnology”. Read more
