Two companies in Spain developed a new graphene-based polymeric battery that will be cheaper and lighter than current Li-Ion batteries. The new batteries will enter into production in 2015 and will be enable electric cars to achieve a range of 1000Km on a 10-minute charge.

The new batteries will be 77% cheaper compared to Li-Ion batteries. Prototypes have been sent to some German car makers
