Abstract:

The undoped and Mn: ZnO thin films prepared by the double dip technique called SILAR method are presented. The ZnO were coated on the glass substrate. The Morphology of the ZnO films were estimated at various post deposition conditions. The Morphology changes with different deposition conditions and exhibit room temperature ferromagnetism. The hardness values where also determined and reported.

Experimental Method

In this study ZnO thin films were grown using a low cost indigenous automated SILAR method. Undopped ZnO thin films was grown using a two-step chemical bath deposition technique using a solution comprising 0.1 M zinc sulphate, 0.2 M sodium hydroxide at a pH value of 10±0.2 deposited.  For Mn doping Manganese sulphate was added. The Morphology of the films are reported. The hardness value of the films varied in Sh scale from 80 to 100.
