Research Scientist - Canberra, Australia

In this position, you will work with a diverse range of scientists, postdocs, and students, in both training and mentoring roles and directly in collaborative research. Your role will also be to maintain and develop microscopy infrastructure to enable current research and plan for future work. This position requires background experience in plant biology plus knowledge of imaging technologies, such as confocal microscopy, electron microscopy and preparation techniques, together with basic image analysis skills.

Requirements include:

  • A doctorate or equivalent research experience in plant cell and/or molecular biology
  • Postgraduate or equivalent research experience, reflected in co-authorship of publications in plant structure and biology, requiring use of fluorescence and/or confocal microscopy and/or scanning or transmission electron microscopy
