Brijesh Kumar SIngh

Sathyabama University, Chennai, India

As a postgraduate student (Microbiology), I have been trained to quickly learn new fields, think through problems in an analytical manner and maintain flexibility within demanding schedule. My varied coursework has expanded my knowledge of microbiology and its allied field and enriched my research skills. The most significant of these were medical Microbiology and Microbial Nanotechnology. Through these courses, I’ve gained invaluable knowledge and experience which I implemented in my postgraduate research work. My work involved the inhibition of biofilm and biochemical composition of Staphylococcus aureus and Candida topicalis. They were evaluated against Silver nanoparticle (AgNp) with various plant products and commercially available drugs. Once the project was finalized, I was responsible for in vitro synthesis of AgNp by Lactobacillus acidophilus SK01 strain, study of the biofilm formation under laboratory condition, evaluation of AgNp with various plant products and commercially available antibiotics and antifungal drugs against biofilm formation as single, double, triple and quadruple in combination, and to study the effect of respective treatment on the compounds of biofilm matrix.

From Jan 2013 I am going to do my PhD from Sathyabama University, Chennai, India.
