Dear Friends,

A very Warm Greetings from Advanced Materials Research Group of Computational Nanoscience & Technology Lab, ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior.

I am happy to inform you that after a great success of National Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies (NCMAT-2012) organised by us in February, 2012. We welcome the participation of physicists, chemists, biologists, materials science, nanotechnologists to "International E-Workshop on Computational Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science" IWCCMP-2013 being organised at IIITM, Gwalior from 27-29 Nov. 2013. The theme of the workshop is to introduce the participant with the area of Computational Material Modeling through various computational tools (Open Source as well as Licensed) like SIESTA, Quantum Espresso, ELK, WIEN2k, ATK-VNL, CASTEP, VASP, XCRYSDEN etc. and their applications. Besides this few lectures will be on basics of Computational Condensed Matter Theory.

This E-workshop is an effort to provide a platform for national as well as international young researchers to interact with the experts of different ab-initio tools and techniques for the variety of applied science subjects. I am sure this workshop will certainly give effective impact on the young researchers in the area of Materials Analysis for their variety of applications.

Features of IWCCMP-2013

  1. Experts have been invited from reputed Institutions of national/International importance to deliver invited talks.
  2. The "E" in workshop signifies the Electronic (Online) Sessions, as more than half a dozen scientists from abroad will be interacting with the participants Electronically
  3. I am also happy to inform you that on 28th a POSTER session has been planned for the participants to present their research work in the area of "Nanostructured Materials and Devices: Experiments and Theory".
  4. The workshop will release the abstract proceeding at the time of inaugural ceremony of IWCCMP-2013 and presented papers will be published in Invertis Journal of Science and Technology as a special issue and few of them after peer review will get recommended for American Scientific Publisher Journal "Quantum Matter". The deadline for paper submission is 30th Oct. 2013.
  5. One paper will be selected for Best Paper Award. The award will consist of a certificate of merit and two months free stay with us at AMRG-CNTL@ABV-IIITM,GWALIOR to work on ATK-VNL or CASTEP tool.
  6. The workshop will end with a formal announcement of a Consortium of Computational Material Modeling Groups of India. Initially the two groups Computational Excellence Lab in Nanotechnology of RDIAS, Delhi and Advanced Materials Research Group of Computational Nanoscience and Technology Lab, ABV-IIITM, Gwalior have consented to start this joint venture for the benefit of young researchers. The participants of IWCCMP-2013 will get free membership to this consortium.
