The new Year begins with our work on Hollow Plasmonic silver nanoshells getting published in in ACS Applied Nano Materials (American Chemical Society).
Key highlights:
1. The paper challenges the preconception that if the solutions are not stirred well the outcome would not be good. The reaction mixture is neither shaken nor stirred, yet we could obtain ‘high quality‘ hollow plasmonic nanoshells.
2. .....first report of hollow silver nanoshells having plasmon peak in second Near-IR window (up to 1150 nm) and in sub-50 nm size regime
3. The work also establishes dimethylglyoxime (DMG) as a quadrupole-supporting agent.
I thank my students, Bhavesh Dadhich, and Pranati Gupta for their herculean efforts to make it a success. I am also grateful to my collaborators,Dr. Bhavya Bhushan (@ KIIT ), Prof. P. K. Datta (@ IIT-KGP), Mr. @Swastik Ballav (@ IIT-KGP) for their invaluable support and contributions...... congratulations to all the co-authors
