The International Meeting of Researchers in Materials and Technology Plasma (IMRMPT for its acronym in English) emerged in 2011 as a result of multiple efforts between institutions of higher education (Industrial de Santander University and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana) that allowed broaden the horizon academic, scientific and industrial.

Through interactions between the research group in Plasma Physics and Technology and Corrosion (Fitek), the Center for Materials and Nanoscience (CMN) of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) and the Research Group on Technology Plasma ( GINTEP) of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana has succeeded in developing a dynamic, presenting the third version of IMRMPT and the first version of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Symposium which will be held at the Hotel Dann Carlton, in the city of Bucaramanga, Santander , Colombia, from 04 to May 9, 2015.

The 3rd International Meeting of Researchers in Materials and Plasma Technology and the 1st Symposium on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology offers participation opportunities for scientists, researchers, academics, and industrial production and other stakeholders committed to the appropriation and socialization of knowledge, in order to establish a shared culture of research and innovation to enrich the field of materials science, plasma technology and industrial application.

The relationship between science, research, technology, innovation and production is widening, especially in the field of new calls technologies such as nanotechnology, physics and plasma technology and materials vital in the XXI century. A country that wants to have a competitive scientific development, which can successfully address the technological challenges must base its development in strengthening their capacity to produce knowledge.

According to the above, we extend the invitation to entrepreneurs, researchers, teachers, professionals, graduate students and undergraduates who are interested in fostering, promoting and establishing an ongoing involvement with the academic technology community, science and research, innovations and materials applications.
