For the second year, the University Ca' Foscari of Venice (Italy), in collaboration with IOM (UK), Karolinska Istitutet (Sweden) and Edinburgh Napier Univeristy (UK) proposes a five-day-school for Ph.D. students, researchers and industrial personnel dealing with nanotechnologies. The school is planned to give a complete and advanced overview of the actual knowledge and gaps on nanosciences, starting from material characterization (available techniques and their limits), environmental and occupational exposure, toxicology and eco-toxicology, risk and life cycle assessment, concluding with discussions on industrial interests and ethical aspects.International experts in various nano-fields, from EU and USA, will hold the lessons, which will be followed by 15-30 minutes discussions. One afternoon will be dedicated to the tutorials, with brainstorming sessions and parallel journal clubs. The registration to the school includes the school participation, the course materials and attendance certificate, lunches and coffee-breaks and two social events (Venice guided tour and concert in Venice). The registration procedure is available on-line on the website of the school.Only 40 places are available!
