This workshop is designed to bridge the gap between medicine and nanotechnology, and provides attendees with an advanced knowledge, skills and practical experience of the principles, technology and applications in this emerging multidisciplinary field.The workshop will comprise 8 lectures and 2 demonstration and/or practice sessions introducing different aspects of nanomedicine, from the basic fundamentals to the various applications.An extra Plenary Lecture with group activity will also be arranged.Course Leader -Dr Yi GeDr Yi Ge is the Course Director of a new and unique MSc course in Nanomedicine at Cranfield University. After obtaining a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Sheffield, he was employed as a research scientist in a UK pharmaceutical company and was then a postdoctoral research associate at Imperial College London, before joining Cranfield Health as a member of academic staff in 2006. In addition, he is a key member of the Cranfield team delivering a series of successful short courses related to nanotechnology in collaboration with the Institute of Nanotechnology.Who should attend?This 2-day workshop is suitable for postgraduates and graduates who have science or technology related degrees and pay interests in the exciting field of Nanomedicine.The course is also ideal for experienced professionals from industry, academia, healthcare system, and government agency looking to widen their skill sets and develop their careers.
