My research field or area of interest innanotechnology

During my Ph.D. program I worked on a research project aimed to explore the applicability of nanoparticles and other nano formulations as adjunct therapy with contemporary treatment. My Ph.D work was focused on the drug delivery of Arteether by oral route in the condition of multi drug resistant malaria. I have developed various formulations and evaluated them in cell lines and animal model of malaria. It involves formulation development, physiochemical characterization, in-vitro release and stability studies, in vitro efficacy studies, pharmacokinetic parameters, host pathogen interaction and studies on malaria infected animal models. In other projects, I have developed nanoparticles containing anti-leishmania drugs and evaluated their efficacy, toxicity and innate immune response in cells lines and in animal models i.e. mice and whistar rats. I have also evaluated pharmacokinetic bio-distribution and toxicity studies in rats. In addition; I have also prepared nitric oxide releasing, Amphotericin-B and Doxorubicin containing Nanoparticles for treatment of leishmaniasis. My studies are further elaborated on the nanoparticles to target colon cancer and made attempt to design receptor associated drug delivery system for its targeting.

Interest in...

With this background and training I am confident that I am well equipped to take the next challenge of being a productive Post-Doctoral fellow in any laboratory of drug delivery.
