My research field or area of interest innanotechnology
I have spent 3 and half years doing my Ph. D in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, focused on the synthesis and characterization of fluorescent semiconductor nanoparticles for bioapplications. I have been using different materials such as polymers, organic compounds and biomaterials for this approach, and also different techniques to get the nanoparticles inside the material, such as infiltration or layer-by-layer. I have publications focused on new applications of silica materials and organic compounds to get some hybrids materials but I also worked with polymers (polystyrene, PNIPAM, PEG, PAH, PSS) to get some results for companies. I currently work on the synthesis, characterization and functionalization of down and up-conversion nanomaterials for bioapplications and also on materials to delivery compounds inside the cells.
Interest in...
Synthesis, characterization and functionalization of nanoparticles to be used for bioapplications such as bioimaging, biosensors, diagnose/theranostic or anti-cancer therapy.
