Abstract:
Biosynthesis of iron nanoparticles is a fascinating research area and has gained importance due to the sustainable and eco-friendly procedures for synthesizing nanoparticles, along with the easy availability of biological materials and their Biomedical and Environmental significance. As an alternative to physical and chemical synthesis, the biological materials, like microorganisms like bacteria, fungi and plants, are considered to be cost effective and environment-friendly. This study focuses on the biological synthesis of iron nanoparticles using wood rot fungus. The synthesized Iron Nanoparticles were confirmed and their size and shapes were characterized by UV-Vis Spectrometer, FTIR, and scanning electron microscopy respectively. The iron nanoparticles tested for antimicrobial and biocatalytic properties. The iron nanoparticles exhibited multiple biological properties, including antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, and biocatalytic or dye decolorization properties, and iron nanoparticles could be used as a potential antimicrobial and biocatalytic agent for medical and environmental sectors.
