Abstract:
The present study deals with the phytochemical constituents and green synthesis of silver nanoparticles from the leaf extract of the Medicinal plant, Senna occidentalis. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized by UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Scanning Electron Microscope, and FTIR analysis. The silver nanoparticles and crude leaf extract were used to evaluate their. biological activities. The AgNPs exhibited antimicrobial (gram positive and gram-negative bacteria and antifungal activity on A.niger) larvicidal and dye decolorizing activities, and elicited antioxidant properties. The present work suggests that the AgNPs from Senna occidentalis leaf extract could be used as biocidal and biocatalytic agents for medical, Agricultural, and environmental sectors .
