Abstract: Vitiligo is a long term skin disorder which is characterized by depigmentation of skin. The common sign of vitiligo is the presence of white patches on the skin. It can occur at any age and affects all the races and both the genders equally. Numbers of remedies are available to reduce the visibility of the condition but at the same time it has also got some side effects. Photochemotherapy is considered as a better choice in the treatment of vitiligo. Photochemotherapy involves the use of UV rays for the photoactivation of the drug which causes photosensitization of skin and further leads to repigmentation. The main aim of this study is to develop a novel combination strategy of lipid based nanoemulsion gel for treating vitiligo using trimethylpsoralen and flavonoid. We assume that if this hypothesis of combination therapy proves successful then this remedy can be used as an additional novel treatment strategy in the management of vitiligo.
