Superconductivity, materials and applications
Nano and bio robotics
Also, in the region of the Lesser Antilles, the 2009 Villa Conference on Interactions Among NanoStructures will meet on St. Thomas, the Virgin Islands in September.

"This conference consists of 2 components: [1] Nano-research, for close discussion and open sharing, to stimulate in-depth understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological interactions among nanoscale components, including carbon nanotubes, nanoparticles, nanowires and quantum dots and nano-education, [2] To share best practices and awareness of nano-education within the university setting and chart the future direction on nano-research, grants, curriculum development and international collaborations". A particular feature of this conference is its encouragement of "open-access" information availability.

An agreement for scientific and technological cooperation between Argentina and South Africa signed in 2007 has resulted in ongoing collaborations, the last being this June's workshops on the status of their NanoTech and NanoScience programmes and laboratory visits in Buenos Aires, La Plata, and Cordoba. A 10-day mini-school session of workshops and research centre visits throughout Argentina are being planned for 2010:

Ineke Malsh has written a comprehensive report on NanoTech in Argentina based upon his 2007 fact-finding mission. Below is his 2008 update with corrections: He provides links to pertinent academic institutions, ministerial agencies, congresses, etc. which will allow you to track their seminars and annuals:
