"Spicy world of NanoScience"
Deadline: 27 April 2012
Open to: Individuals holding a master’s degree in nanotechnology, physics, physical electronics, materials science or other relevant disciplines
Remuneration: NOK. 391 100 per annum, of which 2% is deducted for the State Pension scheme
Two PhD positions are offered within a new research project funded by the “FRINATEK” program of the Research Council of Norway, at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (IET) in Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engin... (IME), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
The primary objective for the two PhD positions (PhD1(MBE) and PhD2(device)) is to study solar cells based on III-V semiconductor nanowires.
The PhD students will be working in close collaboration with other PhD students and post docs working on related nanowire projects. The PhD students will receive a strong multi-disciplinary training by working in a rich scientific environment through collaborations with other departments at the university as well as foreign collaboration partners.
They seek highly motivated individuals holding a master’s degree in nanotechnology, physics, physical electronics, materials science or other relevant disciplines.
Award holders at NTNU are normally appointed for 4 years with 25% of the time spent on teaching assistance and related assignments. The objective of the grant is to obtain a PhD degree, hence the successful applicant must be enrolled as a PhD candidate at NTNU. Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.
There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
