The 7th International Conference of the Africa Materials Research Society will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, December 8-13, 2013.

The Conference will focus on broad materials research themes (noted below), including some of special interest to Africa. The Conference also will provide an opportunity for policy, education and networking dialogue, and help define challenges and future priorities for materials research and development. There will be strong regional student participation.

• Basic Materials and NanoScience
• Computational Materials Science
• Manufacturing
• Metallurgy, Foundry, Processing and Infrastructure
• Materials Education and Networking

The website will be updated regularly with additional
information about invited speakers, hotels, tourism, etc.  We anticipate
that one Nobel Laureate will attend.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us for a very exciting
meeting!  Addis Ababa is the political capital of Africa and home to the
African Union, UNECA, and other organizations helping plan science,
education, and development activities across Africa. These organizations,
as well as UNESCO, plan to be represented at this Conference.

Ethiopia is a lovely country to visit - if you come please remember to
take a few extra days before or after the conference for some tourism.  We will
offer some local and regional tour opportunities for those interested.
