You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out three-dimensional electron microscope analysis of basal bodies in the African Trypanosome using transmission electron tomography and serial block face imaging SEM.
  • Using various molecular biology techniques to produce and analyse mutant cell lines.
  • Working on collaborative projects using transmission electron tomography and serial block face imaging SEM.

You should have:

  • a degree in a biological topic
  • a PhD in a biological topic
  • significant research experience in cell biology
  • Research experience in biological imaging and cellular electron tomography.
  • An ability and willingness to carry out collaborative research.

Full training can be given for serial block face imaging SEM to an experienced electron microscopist.
