Postdoctoral Research Associate - The University of Leicester, UK

Applications are invited to work on a new research programme on
Nanoscience funded by the UK EPSRC. The successful applicant will focus
on the synthesis and characterization of core-shell and/or core-multiple
shell nanoparticles, which are to be fabricated using superfluid helium
droplets. The successful candidate is expected to participate the
initial design and construction of experimental apparatus, routinely run
the experiments to synthesize core-shell nanoparticles and investigate
the properties of the nanoparticles using microscopy (STM and TEM) and
synchrotron measurement. He/she will also participate in supervision of
Postgraduate and/or Master Students.

A highly talented and motivated researcher with previous experience in
relevant fields is very desirable. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in
the related fields such as physics, chemistry, material science or
nanoscience, and have a good publication record. Special experience in
instrumentation, molecular beam, growth of nanoparticles, helium
droplets, mass spectrometry, UHV system, microscopy and other
characterization techniques for nanoparticles are desirable, but not
essential.

General information on the group's research interests can be found at the following: http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/chemistry/research/spectroscopy-an....

Closing date for applications is midnight 15 October 2010.

Welcome

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
