A postdoctoral position is available starting June 2012 in the group of Prof. Artur Izmaylov at the University of Toronto Scarborough, Canada.
Our group’s efforts are directed toward theoretical and computational studies of electronic and vibrational relaxation processes in nanoscale and biological systems. To address arising computational challenges we develop novel techniques in three interrelated areas: electronic structure, mixed quantum-classical dynamics, and statistical mechanics. Among specific areas of application for our developments are 1) organic photovoltaic materials 2) photoactive proteins 3) small molecules at metallic/semiconductor surfaces.
Required qualifications:
1) PhD in the field of theoretical/physical/
computational chemistry, physics or similar fields
2) Programming skills (Fortran) and experience in code development in UNIX/Linux environment
Preferred qualifications:
1) Strong background in quantum chemistry/dynamics/statistical mechanics
2) Experience with electronic structure and/or dynamical packages
3) Experience in simulation of biological systems or materials
A contract will be made for a period of one year subject to renewal by mutual consent.
