Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate to work in the Soft Matter Theory group of the Laboratoire of Solid State physics (University Paris-Sud) in Orsay, near Paris on a research project funded by Labex PALM for a period of up to 2 years. The project focuses on the statistical physics of assemblies of chiral colloids and other biologically or technologically relevant soft matter systems.

Successful candidates should have a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, Computational or Physical Chemistry or another relevant subject area. The candidate should have a background in soft/biological matter or statistical physics, as well as experience with numerical simulation and computer programming.

The project will involve a collaboration with Prof. Emmanuel Trizac from the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Statistical Models.

The position is expected to be available between May and November 2014. Review of applications continues until the position is filled but the candidates are encouraged to apply at their earliest convenience.
