Nano/Bio Interface Center (NBIC)


The Nano/Bio Interface Center (www.nanotech.upenn.edu) has an immediate opening for a post doctoral associate to work in the area of surface and local property analyses of functional nanostructures. The research
involves collaborations between chemistry, physics and material science focused in the interactions of molecules with surfaces, electrodes, and nanoparticles. In particular we are combining scanning tunneling
microscopy with laser excitation to examine photoconduction processes in hybrid nanostructures.

Successful applicants will have PhD in chemistry, physics, materials science or chemical engineering with experience with scanning tunneling microscopy, atomic force microscopy and UHV surface analysis. Experience with self assembled monolayers, and/or functionalized nanoparticles would be beneficial.

The appointments will be for one year, with possible renewal for two subsequent years. Applicants should send a CV and statement of research interests, along with names of 3 references to:
