A post doctoral position in the laboratory of Prof. Sanford Ruhman at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is open for study of ultrafast chemistry and biology. Systems under study will include retinal proteins and model systems, as well as reduced photosynthetic antennae complexes. In addition, exciton dynamics in semiconductor nanocrystals and hybrids which combine quantum dots and proteins will be investigated. Methods will include impulsive vibrational spectroscopy for covering excited state structural changes, with sources from the NIR to UV, including sub 10 fsec optical parametric oscillators. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in one of the described areas of focus.
