The Application engineer works at the intersection of the development, sales support and the scientific community. This person continually collaborates with Applications, Technology, Systems and Software groups to ensure that system requirements are well understood, developed, integrated and thoroughly tested.

Responsibilities:

• Performing system (SW, applications, instrument) testing and evaluation
• Participation in defining the needs for new products development
• Execution of jobs, demonstrations and customer training
• Delivering scientific and other publications (papers, conference proceedings, applications notes)
• Providing customer and market feedback to R&D and Product Managers
• Working on collaboration projects with external partners
• Collaboration with other company departments to ensure that system requirements are well understood, developed, integrated and thoroughly tested
• Maintaining and nurturing pool of microscopy solution expertise (technology, methodology)
• Translating customer needs into workable solutions

• PhD in Material Science, Physics, Engineering or Biology
• 2-7 years of experience as an operator/user of an SEM or SDB system
• Demonstrated experience of using software in complex products with extensive hardware interactions
• Knowledge of programming would be an advantage
• Strong communicative skills (both verbal and written), willing to learn Czech
• Result oriented, ability to work under pressure
• Ability to travel internationally as needed (25%)
