We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, externally funded by the Kiwi Innovation Network Pre-seed Accelerator Fund. The fellowship is focused on the commercialisation of new types of Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) thin film transistor topologies for flat panel displays.

The successful candidate will work in a team lead by Dr Martin Allen in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Canterbury, with support from the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology. The MacDiarmid Institute (www.macdiarmid.ac.nz) is New Zealand's premier research organisation concerned with high quality research in materials science and nanotechnology. Applicants must have relevant research skills and experience, demonstrated by a corresponding high publications standard, in the following areas:

* Physical vapour deposition growth of indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) or other similar zinc oxide based materials
* Semiconductor device fabrication (preferably IGZO thin film transistors)
* Electrical and optical semiconductor characterisation techniques.

The successful candidate should be able to start in October 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter.
