  • Dear

my research into new materials development is focused on the synthesis and characterization of novel nanostructured functional oxides thin films and new plasmonic nanocomposites for several high technology applications. Additionally, i have also developed strong entrepreneurial instincts which have not only led to several awards, but have also guided my research to yield devices with commercial potential. A brief highlight of my experience includes:

    • Conducted research in the development of functional oxides thin films and novel smart nano-composites for energy, electronic applications and nanophotonics technology published in ISI journals and presented as an invited speaker in several international conferences and workshops.

    • Assisted and supported the R&D department in the prototyping, testing and developing of new technologies based on smart nanostructured materials. Provided scientific expertise to the engineering team to developing projects.

    • Co-supervised master students and undergraduate students on the development of smart multifunctional materials for hi-tech applications over the last 5 years, through the NANOAFNET flagship program and African Laser Center (ALC) as well as ICTP funded programs hosted at i-Themba LABS in the laboratory of Prof malick Maaza (maaza@tlabs.ac.za).

    • Successfully co-authored grant proposal that generated $1.5M in rental pool flagship program at the National Laser Center in Pretoria through the supervision of Prof malick Maaza (maaza@tlabs.ac.za).

My greatest strengths match those most necessary for creating a cutting edge multi-disciplinary research in the dynamic of novel nanostructured materials/methods for applied nanotechnology. Straightforward, i plan to pursue research around the theme of novel smart nanostructured thin films materials for industrial applications such as optical lens, filters for military and nanoplasmonics: the physics behind the applications in biomedecine and environmental monitoring.

  • Excuse me Dr. Nehru, I was wrong to whom to address my question. I wanted to ask to Dr. Yael Hanein about the profiles that her institute wants from the applicants, because specific areas is not clearly exposed.

    Regards.

  • My working area is nano and thin films for semiconducting oxide materials. Prof, Can you see for my resume details, pls send to your email address. My e-mail id is lcnehru@yahoo.com
  • Specific areas is not clearly exposed, please, Can you share another link about this?

    Thanks!

  • My Ph.D thesis is related to synthesis and characterization of metal oxide nanocomposites, which can be used in gas sensor, solar cell, photoconductivity, photoelectric and so many smart device applications. I have acquired adequate experience and expertise in designing, material synthesizing and characterizing of nanocomposite materials and semiconductor nanoparticles and thin films (all gained through the work carried out under various research projects and Ph.D work). Since I am also involved in characterization of materials, I am well versed with different characterization techniques like PXRD, EDX, SEM, HRTEM, Raman, AFM, XPS, UV-VIS-NIR, photoluminescence, IR, Impedence analyzer etc for nanomaterials and thin films.

Actually through this mail I expose the possibility of continuing my research in the field of materials synthesis, nanotechnology and thin films. At present I aspire to obtain Post doctoral experience, to gain more practical scientific knowledge and acquire more technical skill, in the field of thin films/nanoscience and technology and its applications. My email id is lcnehru@yahoo.com, if interested pls send to my email address.
