Period of employment and compensation: The initial contract period corresponds to twelve months from the starting date, can be expanded upon mutual agreement. Total package involves monthly salary, on-campus private housing, lunch tickets and private health insurance.
Job description: The postdoctoral associate will work in the group that focuses on development of new nano-composite materials for several hi-tech applications, such as bio-functional coatings, ultra-hard/erosion resistant coating applications. PD will be also closely collaborating with theoretical physics
and surface science groups.
Qualifications: PhD in
physics, chemistry, material science, engineering or equivalent scientific discipline. Projects will require hands-on experience in vacuum technology (HV and UHV) and magnetron sputter deposition technique, skills in the use of surface characterization techniques such as XPS, AES, ATR-FTIR etc, and familiarity in hardness and other thin film properties measurement techniques. In addition, post doc is expected to be efficient at scientific and personal communication: writing papers, making conference presentations, and participating in training and mentoring graduate
and undergraduate students.
