The micrometre-scaled, digitally colour-enhanced image above [credited to Sung Hoon Kang, Joanna Aizenberg, and Boaz Pokroy of Harvard University] capturing epoxy resin fibers self-assembling around a polystyrene sphere was produced in Aizenberg's lab utilizing a scanning electron microscope.
