Supervisor: Dr Chaoying Wan Renewable carbon-based fuels are produced from biomass. An alternative way is chemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is being produced by industry in an increasing rate and is causing global warming problems. This project aims to develop functional nanomaterials that can capture atmospheric CO2 and convert it into fuel. This approach will simultaneously address problems related to reduction of CO2 emissions and its storage. This project will be looking at the chemical synthesis of functional nanoparticles, CO2 adsorption and conversion evaluation.
