PhD School on TEM, AES and SIMS techniques + Plasma module
The whole cycle consists of 4 teaching weeks. During each teaching week, the participants do not only have the opportunity to follow the courses but also to take part in practical sessions on the various nanoanalysis instruments.
Although the courses and practical sessions are free of charge, the participants need to book the hotel themselves and need to take charge of their travel and accommodation costs. However, approximately 20 grants are available for PhD students who do not have any funding available. For applying for such a grant, a letter of motivation (1 page) needs to be sent to the secretariat (mailto:phd-school@lippmann.lu.)
In addition to the 4 teaching weeks, the Centre de Recherche Public - Gabriel Lippmann organizes an “Analysis Week”. This week is intended for PhD students who would like to have one of their own samples analyzed using a complementary technique in the frame of their work.
In collaboration with the Jean Lamour Institute (Nancy, France) in the framework of the European Associated Laboratory LIPES, a teaching week (Plasma module) is also proposed. Here, the courses focus on plasma-surface interactions. This training can either be added to “Teaching week 1” or it can be chosen separately by people interested in the subject.

Providing a comprehensive overview of the different techniques, "Teaching Week 1" of the next cycle will be organized from the 14th to the 18th November 2011.
The dates of the teaching and analysis weeks are listed here below:
• Teaching Week 1: 14th-18th November 2011
• Plasma module: 21st-23rd November 2011
• Analysis Week: 5th-9th December 2011
• Teaching Week 2: 12th-16th March 2012
• Teaching Week 3: 11th-15th June 2012
• Teaching Week 4: 8th-12th October 2012
Students interested in attending this cycle of the PhD School may pre-register on the website http://www.nanobeams.org. The selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of participants is limited to 60.

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.
