This project is focussed on the experimental development and advanced spectroscopy of single-wall carbon nanotube systems for the fabrication of carbon based photovoltaic devices. The successful candidate will become familiar with the fundamental concepts and development of single-wall carbon nanotube materials with desired properties for light absorption and energy conversion. The candidate will use a variety of advanced spectroscopic and microscopic tools for the characterisation and exploration of SWNTs in colloidal suspensions and in thin films.

The PhD position is available immediately and is funded through the European FP7/People Marie Curie Actions program POCAONTAS (Polymer-Carbon Nanotubes Active Systems for Photovoltaics).
